I was just thinking that too. I have just seen a post where someone from Egypt tweeted the embassy there but because in Spain, the British embassy doesn't deal with the visas, I don't know who to tweet. TLS maybe?
I have already called the paid phone number, they just said awaiting decision. When did you apply?
I had my biometrics on 18th August and no news at all.
Yep, I don't know what to do since I am resident in Spain but not national :? So maybe writing to them is useless.

I just wrote an e-mail to the Embassy. Hope it helps!
Hey, did you get your visa?

Hello folks

I've been reading this thread for quite while now.
Timeline
1st Aug / biometric & interview
8th Aug / ECO email
18th Aug / processing is delay email
28th Aug / call from UKVC for rescanning documents
29th Aug / Rescanning done
6th Sep / Call UKVI to escalate my Case

Yesterday I email university to check my CAS status.
Today I got an email from university.

Dear xxxxxx

I have been informed by the Home Office that your visa was granted yesterday. The only you need to do now is to wait to receive your documents.

😍Finger Crossed.
Now I am confused how an earth university can be notified by home office that student has been granted a Visa.
Does this ever happen to anyone on this forum that university can able to confirm wheather visa has been granted or refused before passport collection.
What do you think on it?
Congrats @Amei at first. Yes the university has a direct link with UKVI Staff and they can ask UKVI staff about a student's visa status. If you have been granted a visa then university can be notified by UKVI about this.

So congrats and start packing now :)

Same is the case with me, exactly similar scenario. I done my biometrics from islamabad on 26 July and got acknowledgement on 3 august and today I got Not Straightforward after my few calls to escalate my application as my course date is coming soon.

I think it's just standard email. I have read at few blogs that people got Not straight forward email and next day they got email for either decision made or passport collection for Gerry.

Just got email from my Uni re "not straightforward email".....

according to uni, it is just courtesy email due to delay with visa application and it is not specific to my application. There are severe delay esp for July applicants due to internal issue.

Nothing to worry about it, it is just standard email.

Anyone else experiencing delays in Switzerland?

Applied on the 31st and got the second email like the day after- but its been two weeks and nothing!
I paid for priority and did everything I could, was reassured it would be done in 5 days... classes start this Monday. Really nervous.
applied from geneva priority. 16/9 appointment, received passport last wednesday

Hey, sorry for not updating!

Yes, I got the TLS e-mail to collect my passport this Monday, and yesterday I got it by courier service :D .
How about you?

I contacted the Embassy but they didn't answer me. I think it is better if you contact UKVI directly and make them aware of your course start date, and be insistent about the fact that you've waited this long. Also if you paid for priority, don't forget to remind them.

I am sure your decision is about to be made!!

Personally I called them and it went good. Emailing can take 2 to 3 days for them to answer.

Hi guys i applied on 17th of July from Turkey and i have no information about my visa status. I called UKVI and they told me they will send me an e-mail but nothing happened. Last week my Uni told me that they called UKVI and they will give a decision on my application ASAP.

And today ECO send me this e mail:

Thank you for your enquiry
The processing of this application has not been straightforward. We are continuing to work on the application and will make a decision as soon as we are able to. We cannot give a time scale for when a decision will be made, however I have escalated this to the appropriate Entry Clearance team so that it can be progressed as quickly as possible.

If you have any further enquiries, please visit our website at www.GOV.UK

Is it because of my Uni's request or my call i called them on 2nd of August? Am i be hopefully or not i thought they re working on my case now? What's your experiences?
hello friend, we have the same exact situation, i had my biometrics done on he 13/07/2017 at algos Nigeria , i have placed so many calls and emails to ukvi , everytime escalated , my uni has also contacted them and told them to attend to my application as a matter of priority, yesterday after another calli placed to them i received the same email
'The processing of this application has not been straightforward. We are continuing to work on the application and will make a decision as soon as we are able to. We cannot give a time scale for when a decision will be made, however I have escalated this to the appropriate Entry Clearance team so that it can be progressed as quickly as possible' .

my uni is starting next monday on 18th sept 2017.
So worried, dont know wht to do again

anyone from nigeria with similar experience?
