Exactly, I have 3 other friends who applied around the same time. Still no decision
Shall we all come up with a joint letter addressed to the high commissioner and FM requesting action? If so, we should organise this now and fast. There are at least 3 other members in this forum who are waiting.. Im sure there's many more..

i dont think we will get decisions next week ...those who applied around july not getting decision especially 1st and 2nd week of july. I don't know the exact reason but they avoided our whole bunch of application for no reason because of high volume of applications they have to finish.... I think they forgot and we crossed 38 working days , that means they will get alert to finish application only before 60 working days.
I don't know about other countries but in india , documents scanning stopped and the respective embassy making decisions, and they are doing fast . I heard people appliying standard visa in august middle and got visa in 10 days... priority in 6 working days..

I don know if I cancel my application, in how many days ill get my passport back? I should contact vfs for that...but have to go in person ...thts my only idea now.....if I got my visa around 18th September and got rejected for simple reason...then I don't have time to reapply also. its the worst scenario I could ever imagine . at that time I wont even have to reapply for cas also. then everything will be flop, if I worried about money.

Is it possible they are issuing visas based on course start date?

What was the course start date for the people who were issued visas last week?

I dont think so because one of my batch mate got her visa on 21st august, however our course is starting on 18 sept. There is some issue, even HC knows all courses in uk starts from sep.

It's not easy getting a new CAS quickly, If your visa application refused.

University will take refusal letter as part of consideration of student application before issuing new CAS... Visa rejection will affect your immigration history and future visa application.
your future application may take many days for processing decisions due to you already having visa refusals!

I did some research before and it can take up to 5-10 working days to get your passport back after cancelling. So it is impractical at this point to cancel your application

I don't think this works. I tried sending them email through a different email address( paid and emailed through a different account earlier) and got the following reply instantly.

This mailbox is not the correct point of contact - If you have an immigration enquiry, please visit - https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk .

If you are replying to an existing enquiry, and have had previous contact with us over email about the same application, please do so by replying to the last email you received from one of our customer service representatives as this will ensure the enquiry is continued.

Alternatively you can call us. Details of which can be found following this link https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk

huge backlog in Sheffield, I don't think they will give us decision soon and people who applied lately in india are lucky, since the applications are decided in their respective embassies

huge backlog in Sheffield, I don't think they will give us decision soon and people who applied lately in india are lucky, since the applications are decided in their respective embassies
Well the passports arent in Sheffield, all ours are in chennai. So if they wanted they could've reallocated the processing to chennai by forwarding them the online applications and scanned docs. But obviously they dont really seem to care.
