Ok so I am now in the Uk. I went to collect my bro today and they said that it hasn't arrived yet. Is this the case for all delayed visa applicants? Starting to worry yet again.

Thank you, I really hope we both hear good news soon!

That's the email they asked me to send the scanned documents to as well (SheffieldDocsRequested.RestofWorld@fco.gsi.gov.uk). I didn't receive any confirmation that they have received the documents so I called and then I was told that they do not respond to the email confirming that they received the scanned documents. I applied to Goldsmiths University, which university did you apply to? I'm not sure if I should call the university again to see if they can get in touch with the Home Office once more to rush them, or to just wait...

When you called to escalate the application, did they send you an email explaining what is happening with the application or update you? They told me after the escalation that I should receive an email with update on the progress of my application but nothing so far
So when I escalated, I basically only complained that way more than 15 days had passed and nothing was happening. They logged the complaint. When the Home Office emailed next, it was with indirect reference to the inquiries I had made over the phone. But I didn't get a separate email about escalation in particular, or the progress of my case, from UKVI or the call center. They do say they'll send an email, but I haven't gotten any direct ones. Overall escalation doesn't always result in beneficial outcomes.

One way I got to chase the documents being sent- which makes me very nervous as you are sending them a. yourself b. over email and c. to an address that doesn't reply/confirm- was by explaining to an immigration adviser at uni (SOAS, btw) that UKVI keeps losing my documents. They have colleagues at UKVI and it helps for the uni to be in the loop as they stay on top of your case, and discuss it with relevant people. But mostly you're at the mercy of the Home Office to contact you, even if the uni, home office and call center all have communicated with each other on your case.

I'm basically back to square one now. Sent my documents, got a confirmation that they were received and linked to my app. Was told that they were "prioritising applications and that a decision will be made on my application as soon as possible". fml.
It is very nerve wracking to be left in the dark especially given that we have such a tight timeframe. I contacted the university today and they said they have received an update just this past Tuesday about my application which was that it's still being processed (which in my opinion is not really an update). About the escalation, I too never really got any email from them about it. I had doubts from the beginning about the whole escalation that it was a mechanism to perhaps make applicants just wait but deep down I'm wishing it can have an impact.

On the bright side, given how little we know about the system for processing the applications, who knows perhaps we will hear from them soon, even if you had submitted the missing documents recently. I certainly hope we do hear some good news either tomorrow or beginning of next week. I'll keep you posted about any updates!
They made a decision! Got the email yesterday. Fingers crossed. Hope you get yours too.

That is great!!! Congratulations. This gives me hope, fingers crossed!

Glad to hear that you made it here! If you are referring to the brp, don't worry about it (of course you should worry if it's actually your bro who is missing, JK :P ). I was told the same when I went to collect mine initially, but it was there when i went back a couple of days laters. I know that all delayed applicants experienced the same.

Applied for visa online: 5th-Sept
Interview date: 8th-Sept
Email received: 9th-Sept & 22nd-Sept

I've received this email:

Thank you for applying for a UK visa. Your visa application remains under consideration.

We have previously communicated our customer service target for non-settlement applications as 15 working days. Unfortunately, we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service target. We apologise for any inconvenience that this might cause.

We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible over the coming days.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.

Kind Regards,

UK Decision Making Centre

Does this mean my visa process time will be greater than 15 days as 10 working days have already passed. My course start date was 11th-Sept but I could register up till 29th-Sept. Will I be missing my deadline, so stressed and tensed from this nonsense. Or is this a standard email?

Man, i have exact same time line and i received the same exact email on 22nd sept. And my interview was on 8th september as well. And i am just as stressed as you are. I still don't understand that if only 10 working days have passed and they are already saying they won't be able to make the decision in 15 working days. This might just mean that we are in trouble? Because we both don't have enough time before the last deadline for arrival. No idea what to do man.

call UKVI irst thing in the morning on monday and explain your situation and discuss the deadline to join university and ask them to escalate your case. also email your unis as soon as possible and ask them to do what they can do so UKVI processes your application right away. Also ask your uni if the CAS has been used, atleast you will know if the application is being processed or not. See if your uni can extend the deadline for you,it might help.

some people have got this email and their applications were decided the very next day as well, but its not a rule.

i applied on 15th and received the confirmation on 18th. no further emails from them yet.

I received a call from Home Office this afternoon (Sunday 24th September @2pm) and had an interview that lasted about 15mins.

I hope this is a positive sign as my latest start date is 2nd of October 2017.

I actually submitted my application and had my biometric/first interview on 28th July 2017.

Hello guys, i been reading through all your comments for the past 2 weeks and would like to share my experience and time line which i hope will help some of you.

Am an Iranian living and applying from Kuwait and i have an immigration history as my visit visa app to attend my graduation ceremony for my previous study in the UK was refused in 2016 due to not meeting some immigration rules (the main reason was i didn't have enough evidence to prove my intention to leave the UK as i provided a photo copy of a letter from work instead of the original and didn't provide my bank statement, also no hotel or flight booking)

August 31: Online App (priority service)
September 10: Biometrics and Interview
September 11: Prepared for consideration by an ECO
September 21: received an email that my app was processed and received at the UK Visa Application Center on 9/20/2017
September 24: email (passport can be collected within the designated collection timings)
September 24: collected my passport with visa (very thankful and happy )
September 18: Decision was made as stated on the visa sticker

My last day of enrollment is tomorrow!! 25th of Sep, but last week i have contacted my uni to let them know i might face a delay in my application and they extended my dates and they also sent a letter to the UKVI letting them know i can join the course at a later time. but am not sure if this can happen to everyone as am doing a postgraduate research with no fixed classes which is more flexible to change dates, but i would advice those who are facing problems to contact their uni it can be really helpful sometimes.

Thank you all guys for sharing your experiences and timelines this really helped me while waiting,i know how stressful this can be as some people here been waiting for months, just be patient & positive and never lose hope. am sorry to see that one guy was refused and am sure the future will bring better things to him and to everyone who didn't make it, and congratulations for everyone who got their visa and best of luck with your studies.

Dude my last date to enroll is 29th-Sept which is Friday this week. I'll be attending Brunel University London. I've just sent them an email hoping to atleast extend the deadline for 1 week and I'll be calling UKVI to sort this sh*t out. They say 10-15 days and you're like chill and then at the last day they'll email you and fu*k things up. But anyways I do have backup which is that the university will also allow me to enter in the January stream but that'll mean no summer break but that's ok I guess. Can't really imagine just wasting time till January. Will be try to do some social work or internship till then. Whatever Allah thinks is best for us

BTW my friend last year got his visa just one day before the deadline so there is hope. Hoping for the best man, stay strong!

Does this mean my visa process time will be greater than 15 days as 10 working days have already passed. My course start date was 11th-Sept but I could register up till 29th-Sept. Will I be missing my deadline, so stressed and tensed from this nonsense. Or is this a standard email?
Hey dude, is your application priority or standard?
It's standard. Although I do have a backup plan as my university will let me join in the January stream but I don't even know what to do in this 3-4 months

Just received an email at 4:30pm today that my passport is ready for collection from the Centre where I applied. Too bad the office closes at 4pm so I'll be collecting first thing in the morning. Just pray to Allah that it has been approved

I've also applied for the Islamabad Centre. Inshaa Allah your visa will be ready before deadline and you'll definitely make it to the university on time. All that remains for me is to see that if my visa is approved and then I'll be either be flying out tomo night or on the 27th of Sept
