Hi. I am a Canadian needing to apply for a youth mobility visa for a job in London starting in January. However I am in Switzerland on a 3 month visitors visa. I have heard that I am not able to apply for this visa from a country where I am only on a visitors visa. Does anyone know if there is a loophole to this? Really hoping to not need to fly back to Canada just for an appointment. thanks

No loophole I am afraid as far as I am aware. You are required to apply from a country where you have legal residence, i.e. not a visitor.

I agree with CR001 - you can only apply in a country where you a work / residence permit.

The reference to specific Tier 5 in the above guidance does not help you. See paragraphs 28 and 28A of the Immigration Rules for the full story.
