Tier 5 Application - Is Travel Allowed While Waiting for Processing?

Hi. I am planning to apply for my Tier 5 YouthMobility visa this week from Sydney but then have a flight booked to leave the country at the end of the week.

I plan to choose the "Keep Passport" option. Do you know if there is any limitations to travel while they are processing your visa?

I understand that once my application is (hopefully) finalised I will be notified to submit my passport again so that the visa can be affixed to it. Does anyone know what is the likely time window that they hold on to the visa for? If I am still overseas is there any leeway on timing to return back to the office?

Can someone who has recently applied and held on to their passport tell me what time window they were given to pick up their visa?
