Tier 5 Visa

Post by saminkhan » Sat May 12, 2018 9:57 pm

Hi

A friend has just been accepted for a Govt grant to help her complete her research project in a foreign university. She teaches in a Pakistani University and is doing her PhD at the moment.

She has got an offer from a UK university who are offering her a visitng research fellow position for six months. She will still be paid her salary in Pakistan alongwith Govt grant for living costs here in the UK.

We have been going through Gov.Uk website but the information is really confusing. After a lot of searching it appears that she needs to apply for Tier 5 (Temporary Worker - Government Authorised Exchange) visa.

But as she has organised the arrangement with the UK University herself its not clear if its the right category and there is no link between Pakistani Awarding body and UK Govt. Any advice on that will be really helpful.

She has young kids and isnt sure if applying for kids will have any impact on her chances of success. On of the applicant for the above category (on one of the threads here) got her visa rejected as she only applied for her kid and not her husband as well.

Anyone in similar situation? Anyone who could advise?

Thanks
