unmarried partner of tier 1

Post by Fairychild » Fri Aug 21, 2009 4:26 pm

Hi,

Would be grateful for any advice.

I am in the UK on HSMP and awaiting my Tier 1 extension application. Hopefully it will be approved and I can stay another 3 years.

My unmarried partner just left after his working holiday visa expired.

We've not been living together for 2 years and are not ready to get married yet. What options do I have to get him over for some time and what is the best way to approach it with home office?

I see that we can get a visit / sponsor visa but that will be difficult because he doesn't have work to return to and proof he is going back after the six months. Should I say that we plan to marry after the 6 months, go back and then apply for dependent visa for him. I should be able to sponsor his stay for the 6 months.

I can't apply for something like a fiance visa on limited leave to remain, can I?

Call me crazy, but I just want a bit more time to live together before making a bit commitment like marriage, but that seems impossible!
