I've been trawling the site and I apologise if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find an exactly equivalent case to mine and would appreciate some clarification.
My details:
(I am South African and my husband is English)
- Entered UK on the 15/09/05 on TWES permit.
- Applied in-country for and granted a Student Visa in October 2007.
- Applied for and granted Unmarried Partner visa at PEO Croydon on 05/01/09.
- Got married in South Africa in December 2009.
- Received new passport in married name in July, applied for new Foreign ID card in married name on 22/07/10.
- Went for biometrics appointment 06/08/10.
- Still waiting for passport etc back.
I am due to apply for my ILR in December and have been told that the earliest date is the 8th December this year. By your expert calculation, is that right according to the expiry date of 05/01/11?

I have also been advised that I can apply for Naturalisation as soon as I have been granted my ILR because I am married to an English citizen and the 6-year time limit then doesn't apply to me and I'd just need to fulfill a 3-year time limit. Is this correct?
In terms of documentation needed for my application (the only guidance I can find on this site is applicable to HSMP apps, so just want some clarification) - do I need payslips and an employers' letter and 2 years' worth of documentation to prove that my husband and I are still living together? The guidance seems a bit grainy on the documentation required, so I just need to make sure.
I will be doing my Life in The UK test in a couple of months' time and will definitely do a same-day application.
Thanks in advance for any help!
