Until what date we can work for current employer? - Urgent

I just have an below urgent query and need your help on it. Request you to provide your valuable inputs which really helps my situation.

Visa Type: Tier 2 General Extension
End date mentioned in COS : 01/02/2017
End date mentioned on BRP card : 15/02/2017
Current status: visa switching is under process
Query: Until what date can I work for my current employer (01/02 or 15/02) even after new visa
stamped?

To be on safe side you should only be working for your current employer till 01/02 if you are in process of changing employers. Because this is the date which should be mentioned on your current COS as work end date and you should not be working beyond this date unless you are extending the visa with the same employer.

I agree with your comment of 'safest' option but the challenge over here is if I work until 15/02 (BRP end date) then it perfectly covers my notice period with current employer so looking for exact end date as per the UK immigration rules.

Responses from Immigration team (on phoning them) and also from my new employer team is that I can work for current employer until 15/02 with no issues. But I believe that answers in this board are more accurate and believable. Any more thoughts now please?

As I said earlier, If I would you, I would work for current employer till 01/02 and pay off the remaining notice period to the employer to be on safe side.

The additional 14 days are given flexibility for the migrant so that he has some days to wrap up stuff here in UK if he is leaving the country.
