Update to the Good Character Requirement in Nationality Applications

Post by vetchololass87 » Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:29 am

Hello All

With the New Update to the Good Character Requirement in Nationality Applications, i would like to know if i will be affected if i decide to apply:

The update states that:

A person must be refused if they have:
• a custodial sentence of less than 12 months
• a non-custodial sentence or out-of-court disposal recorded on their criminal record
and you are not satisfied, on the balance of probabilities, that they are of good
character."

I was convicted of drink driving in 2015, 9 months disqualification
And i have 3 points on my licence in 2021 for speeding.

Please advise if i have chances to be approved, as i do not want to lose my money.

Regards.

I was convicted of drink driving in 2015, 9 months disqualification Drink drive has been almost 8 years, it should be fine. Declare it.
And i have 3 points on my licence in 2021 for speeding. No problems, declare it.

Please advise if i have chances to be approved, as i do not want to lose my money. Other factors could still be a problem, but not this 2 named above.

Regards.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Hello.

Thanks for your reply.

The only negative factors i have are the ones mentioned above, so it should be fine then.

Thanks
