Updating change of address to UKVI

Post by User62527 » Fri Jul 24, 2020 4:36 am

Hello. I have been in UK on a tier 4 visa for 2 years. During first year, I stayed in uni student hall. After first year, I moved home in summer break. At start of second year, I stayed in uni student hall and later moved to another address close to uni due to a medical problem but I didn’t cancel my uni student hall contract as it was too late. I informed the uni.

I didn’t report changes to my address starting after first year to UKVI though I updated them with the uni. Is it going to affect my future visa applications? Also, is it allowed to book 2 different accommodations at the same time?

Where are you reading that this could be an issue? It is not a condition of your visa to report changes of address to UKVI, although if you do have the condition to register with the police, you must keep your certificate up to do date with any changes of address.

The General Grounds for Refusal also say nothing about it, so I am not clear where you are reading this?

It is of course good practice to always keep the Home Office updated with any change of address, in case they ever need to contact you.

A Tier 4 visa has no such conditions or rules about that, so again I am not sure what is the source of your concern about it.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
