URGENT ADVICE NEEDED - SETTLEMENT/ILR

Hi everyone this is my very first post on this forum..so any advice given will be really appreciated.

I am a British Citizen, my husband has come from Pakistan to UK on a settlement visa which he has for 27 months. His visa was issued in end of november 2009 and he came to UK on 28 december 2009, so it is roughly one month after his visa issue date..His 27 months will be over in end of february 2012.

We have planned a holiday to pakistan and want to stay there for 6-8 weeks maximum, what i would like to know is that will it be okay for him to stay out of the country for that period of time as i dont want his ILR application to be affected for him being out of UK for too long. If anyone has been through the same situtaion or know anything can u plz share with me.
