Urgent Help Needed !!

Post by nikki123 » Thu Jul 03, 2008 7:26 pm

Hi i was wondering if anybody can help... my husband, a us citizen has just applied for and paid for a uk spousal visa, now the confirmation email we got stated that he needs to send in a complete VAF2 form along with the application form which is employment i believe now this has completely thrown us off and don't understand why he has to do this i was led to believe that he would be able to work upon arrival in the uk without a WP we have everything else, though he has no savings due to paying for the visa with all he had.... but i do work full time, only temp work but it's ongoing and good money, i also have an nvq2 accounts qualification
also stated in the confirmation email that he needs proof of his immigration status on top of his passport but he's a US citizen and doesnt hold a permanent resident card or anything of the sort, we're really confused and any help/advice you can give us is much appreciated.

Last year, spouse applicants used form VAF2. However, this has been changed to VAF4. Perhaps they had not updated their standard checklists.

You should tell the Entry Clearance Officer the exact date on which you will be travelling before your visa is issued. (You can ask for it to be post-dated for up to three months if you do not plan to travel immediately).

Shortly before the end of your probationary two years Leave to Enter (LTE) period you will need to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). When you do this you will have to provide at least 20 letters and other documents addressed to you and your partner or spouse at the same address, as evidence that you have been living together during the past two years. Examples of documentation to provide are listed on the UK Border Agency website: Form SET (M) and guidance notes.
