URGENT HELP NEEDED!

Post by Samelamin » Fri Nov 11, 2011 1:47 pm

Hi all

I got an employment offer from a company but I am on a Tier 1 Visa till mid 2012

I am getting married to my EU parter in December and I explained to the company that once that is done I should be entitled to work for any emplyer. But without the COA I cant provie that

Is there a link that I can provide to prove that once I am married it isnt an issue?

any help would be appreciated

The CoA would only state that you are allowed to work in the UK for 6 months (as it is expected that you will get the RC by then) so not sure this will change things.
But if you are currently on a Tier-1 visa, you are already allowed to work for any employer and should be allowed to extend your visa. Surely, the employer should be familiar with Tier-1 visas and the option to extend them. The nature of visas is that they expire. Nothing new here. Worse case, they can state in your contract, they it will end if you don't have the right to work in the UK any more.

You can point them to this page on the HO website which describes your employment rights as a family member of EEA national.
