Urgent help required, lost ILR vignette

hello, basically i was born in the uk but to a non british parent. but eventually was granted ILR in 2007 including my parents. the only issue i have now is i have a son now and applied for his passport but they requested for proof of my status.Tried getting in touch with my parents but cant find my ILR viginette and documents that was issued. what else can i send or apply for showing my status. Thanks

As you appear to be on ILR and are not yourself a British citizen, your child is entitled to be registered as British Citizen under section 1(3) but doesn't qualify to apply directly for a British passport until the Registration has been completed.

Evidence of ILR is also required for a child's Registration and I suggest you apply for a No Time Limit BRP. (NTL)

Casa, the OP's UK-born son may automatically be British. The difficulty is proving that the OP held ILR at the time of son's birth.

Try applying for your SAR or apply for child's confirmation of British nationality status.

Thanks Vinny & Casa for your help. Would apply for a SAR and hopefully that would be good enough as proof for my son's passport application..

Also looking to apply for Naturalisation as a British Citizen, But looking through the application, i also need to provide some documents of my ILR which i cant find. will the SAR be good enough as proof or would it delay my application.

If you have insufficient evidence, then delay is unavoidable anyway. So, no harm in trying SAR.
