urgent ILR and child benefit documents needed

Hi Everyone ,
pleade pardon any errors only a newbie.
Would appreciate any advise on this issue.
I was granted HSmp in march 2006, now due for ilr.
live in n/ireland and have 2 children who are irish citizens by virtue of being born one in the north and the other in the south of ireland.
started claiming child benefit just prior to the birth of my second son in 2007. I am aware of the exceptions to the no recourse to public funds and that is why i claimed i.e family member of two eea citizens.
I have appointment in croydon next weekk and was wondering apart from my children's passports which proves they are eea citizens and the usual reqirements what other evidence do i need to prove my eligibility in case i get a case worker who requires more proof.

Any ideas do i need to take their birth certificate to prove that i am their mum. What else can i use to prove that i am the their mum? what about school reports to prove that they live with us or i am i just too anxious and going overboard.

i havei read all posts on the ilr and benefits section and i am now more confused than when i started out and another question has come up.
first more details
i am non eea citizen living with 2 eea children with irish passports and have never worked anywhere else.
have a ghanian passport myself so does my husband and are on hsmp .

we are also being paid child benefit our eldest son who was born in ghana and is not an eea citizen in addition to uor 2 other children. shoud we have been paid for him .
i stated clearly on my application form that i was subject to immigration control and on hsmp but claiming based on being the family member of an eea national.
people please respond as i am obviously having sleepness nights.

Nobody seems to have got back to you yet, and I'm no expert, but does your visa say 'no recourse to public funds'?

If it does, then I guess there's your answer. Once you get ILR, it seems, you'll be able to claim benefits, but before then, if your HSMP visa clearly states no public funds, then I'm guessing that they won't allow it. This is all I can find for you...

Looks like you've been in breach of your visa, but please don't quote me on it, because I'm no expert. I'm going purely on the guidance above.

I'd suggest maybe contacting a legal advisor if you can't wait any longer on here for an answer

my visa does state no recourse to public funds but there are exceptions to this rule so it is not absolute. In my case i am the family member of an eea national which is one exception which allows me to claim. regarding my previous query i read the child benefit website and what i inferred was that it is the parent who is elihible to claim and it is for all children you have responsibility for . so though one claims for the child they cannot claim it on their own. hope i haven't muddled it all up. i am not too sure about residency requirement but in my case they requested for evidence that my non eea son was resident here.

had to change my appointment to liverpool for logistic reasons but my experience there was great.
had an appointment for 11am got there for 9am
cleared security and was invited to check my documents almost immediately. realised i booked a single appointment instead of a family appointment. they were great about it explained the difference and made arrangements for me to be seen they said it was because they had a few spaces so were able to accomodate me.
went to pay and within 10 mins was called for interview or should i say submit my documents because i wasn't asked one single question.i wasn't even asked for my children's eea passport after all that anxiety!!!!!
i submitted my documents the usual and a covering letter explaining my eligibiity for child benefit ,qouted the relevant legislation /detailed my absences from the uk which was negligible ,3 months bank statement ,letter from employer , p60,last 6 months paysips ,initial grant hsmp letter.
i was asked to wait .
i waited for about 30-45 minutes and was informed that my ilr had been granted but would need to wait for 45 mins to have stamp put in our passport. went out to buy some magazinesand by the time i came back stamp was ready . checked stamp and that was me.
she had included a letter stating the date of eligibility for citizenship.
finished at about 10.45 whole process took less than 2 hours.
so that bridge has been crossed
next one life in the uk test.
