URGENT: Immigration status expired cannot generate share code

hope you are well.

I have submitted my ILR Set O visa application on the 21st June 2025, and have my BRP appointment on the 9th July 2025.
My leave to remain expired as PBS dependant expired on the 22nd June 2025 and I was not able to retrieve a share code to use as evidence of immigration status in the UK.

I have read that a BRP can be used as evidence on GOV.UK it states:

'your biometric residence permit (BRP), if you have one - you can use it for 18 months after the expiry date printed on the card'

Can anyone please guide if this is acceptable evidence, or if there is any other way?

If you have applied for a new immigration application and now your visa has expired, you cannot get a share code. The GOV.UK mentions using an expired BRP for people who have a valid status but hold an expired BRP card (e.g. ILR status with a BRP that expired by the end of 2024).

However this does NOT mean an expired BRP card can generate a share code for someone who does NOT have a valid residence/visa in the UK or someone under the section 3C. As you have a pending in-time application, you are currently under section 3C protection. If you need to prove your right to work for now, you should instead ask your employer to request a manual check via the Employer Checking Service.

Thanks Zimba, as of now I am not seeking a share code to prove my right to work in the UK.

My document checklist for my PBS SetO ILR application requires me to provide evidence for my immigration status in the UK. what evidence can this be?

You do not need to provide anything. That is a legacy from BRP days
