Urgent inquiry regarding skilled immigrant class

Post by mad » Tue Apr 27, 2010 2:09 am

Dear All,

I just applied under the skilled immigrant class to CIO office. I would be extremely grateful if you could help me with the following questions:

1. We are expecting our first baby in a couple of months. Can we tell them when our baby is born? Would we have to pay for the baby separately?

2. How long do the documents take at the CIO stage?

1. Yes, tell them when the baby is born and then send the additional fee.

2. If you are going through London office it's quoted as around 6 - 12 months, but varies. The likely changes in the list of eligible occupations has caused a rush of applicatons, so it may now take a bit longer.

This would complicate things a bit if your baby is born before you get your PR to Canada. You would have to inform the Canadian Embassy about an extra dependant and show extra maintenace funds as necessary. I believe that your Visa processing could be extended by a couple of months..Thanks..
