URGENT PSW Application from abroad - Help

Hi All

Abit of clarification required from experience Iboaders :

Original MSc notification letter : 23 Feb 2011

Requested PSW letter from uni: 11 Nov 2011 (same letter as they sent in feb but dated 11 nov 2011)

Applying PSW in : March 2012

Which letter should i submit .. the Feb one or the Nov one. If i use feb one then according to 12 month rule will they reject my application..ORR if i use Nov then WILL UKBA verify with the UNI to verify dates.

PSW does not depend only on letter it depends on date of your award, or final result if that is more than a year than there is great chance that your application will be rejected

my concern is the uni sent me a original letter with new dates so would UKBA gna verify it by any chance !!

UKBA will know when your CAS originally stated your course was due to start and finish

has the university put incorrect dates on your new letter if so why? and will you be putting incorrect dates on your application form - thus lying to the UKBA in your application?

its the MSc award confirmation letter , i asked the uni to sen a letter for psw so they printed it off the same one and the date was automatically updated on the letter (usualy happens in MS word) . its all stampd and everyting :S what do u recommend .. apply not to apply .. or apply using old letter but its gna be 13th month

UKBA will know when your CAS originally stated your course was due to start and finish

has the university put incorrect dates on your new letter if so why? and will you be putting incorrect dates on your application form - thus lying to the UKBA in your application?

They always check your degree status from university and it will have start and end date for your course.

you have to put the start and end date of your course, on the visa application form - if you lie then you are committing deception and may face a 10 year ban.

I can't imagine how they would have letters that automatically update - as each letter is different and they would need to input the start and end dates of the course and the date of award

well this letter dont av any start or end date, it just states that board have agreed to recognise your academic requirement and award you the masters degree. and below its the degree and classification. this is all on letterhead with stamp on it.. i think its a standard one so wenever ppl request they print it off wivout amendin anyting but dates get updated (blame ms word)

i have also detail letter from uni stating start and end dates course detail . that letter was issued in MAY 2011 .. my stupidquestion is IS ukba looking for dates on letter of notification or dates of award... the letter was issued in may sayin it was result was awarded in feb and grad ceremony is in oct ..

It sounds to me like the letter you have just been issued is just a standard exam board letter, not a PSW letter and the date that has just changed is the date on the letter.

The PSW letter must meet the requirements of para 62(ii) of the PSW policy guidance if you don't yet have your degree certificate (or para 83 if you have the certificate), the letter must include the start and end dates of your study, and the date of the award - you can't just submit a letter stating you have been awarded.

Ok ,, i have this PSW letter dated May 2011 stating course start in sept 2009 and finished in feb 2011, AND assessment board was held on 18 feb 2011 and grad ceremony in oct 2011. Now based on this will my application be accepted if i ask university to reissue the notification letter dated in march 2011 . ??

The university can issue you another letter but they can only state the facts as they are- i.e. That you were awarded your degree on 18 February last year and therefore it is more than a year since you were awarded.
