Urgent qry regarding work in Spain:SchengeVisa or VanDerElst

Hi,
I am an IT consultant working on a HSMP in the UK. Our work is being designed in the UK whilst the development is happening in Spain.

My project wants me to visit Spain frequently to help resolve any build or design issues that may arise from time to time. My company is a global IT consultancy firm and the development is happening in our own offices in Spain.

I will mainly be attending meetings with key resources to resolve any outstanding design or build issues.

Can anyone advise whether I'll be able to travel on the Schengen visa or do i need a spanish work visa for this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
