Hiya,
I had a few specific queries regarding HSMP extension under the HSMP Forum JR. I would be most grateful for any advice.
My HSMP history is quite straightforward - first issued may'2004, was on HSMP till May'2008. Didnt want to apply for an extension bcoz of all the controversies and instability ushered on by the new directives in Nov'2006. In Feb'08 applied for EEA2 and am on EEA residence card as of now.
But since late summer when HO published formal directives covering folk who fall under the HSMP forum JR am tempted to re-apply. As acc to the policy document available on HO website I would not loose the time from MAY'08 till the date my new HSMP extension under Tier 1 is issued sometime in 2009. In that case I would be eligible for ILR/prob Residence by May-2009!
It is quite tempting but I have a couple of queries!
1) What exactly is meant by economically active?
From May 2004 to Dec'2005 - Initially I had applied for a number of jobs (have all the doc evidence in the form of letters sent/recieved and emails etc., job centre and recruitment agency paperwork) but my steady income, in this period, was from two part time jobs and a research scholar job at the university computer science dept. The latter was a project funded by a research grant and I recieved a monthly internship from that and it was not taxed. The part time jobs were obviously taxed. From then on I have had full time and a part time job all through till now. Will this suffice to meet the criteria for an HSMP extension under old rules, I am just a bit worried about the internship job.
2) As per many useful posts in the forum for HSMP extension I need to show just the last 12 months pay slips and bank statements for economic activity but I could not find these exact wordings in the HO website. Would be grateful for any advice on this.
Also when it comes to ILR application will I have to show the income for the whole 5 years in exact details?
Or will the last couple of years stuff usually will suffice? I have heard from people most folk just put in around 12 months payslips and bank statements and at the most a P60 of the previous year.
3) Under the old HSMP rules WERE the main citerion for extension as follows:
- being economically active
- no public funding
- no criminal convictions
I apologize for the length of the post, any advice would be appreciated.
Best Regards,
Ran
