Urgent Query...plz help..PR

Post by knapps » Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:27 am

Hi Guys,
I applied for a PR under Eu treaty rights. I received my documents back (Very efficient service from Eu treaty rights) as it took only two weeks for them to return, so thumbs up.

My query is,

I received a letter from them asking me to go to gnib with my wife and get a stamp 4. This will be given for 6 months.

I am assuming it is a standard letter. I already have a stamp 4eufam until mid 2012 on my passport and gnib card. Which will be further extended when i get a new passport from my embassy. I have lived for 5 years under eu rights.

I got 1 year stamp initially, then another year and then 3rd year from local office. During that 3rd year i sent EU1 application and they sent letter for 5 years. That is why that 5 years stamp started from 2008.

My query, do I really have to go to ask gnib to cancel my current stamp and give me for 6 months only. That makes no sense to me.

Any help??

No, that's just a standard letter, they haven't checked whether you already have a stamp and are assuming it has expired or is expiring.
