A heads up on what I did:

1) I had over GBP3,000 in funds / equivalent FX. I will have parental support, so my dad also wrote a letter stating that I will have access to his funds as required. Include original bank statements, copies of Fixed deposits (say you'll provide original on request) etc etc.
2) I had my cousin, a British citizen, write a letter that stated I will be living with her initially. She included her UK passport number, address, job title, and annual income.

Hope that helps.

Hey Mohan,

I applied from Colombo. And also got my EC stamped there too.

Out of curiosity, would location out side the UK make a big difference? VFS has (unfortunately) established themselves here too...

Hi lankanfunkin,

thanks for ur reply.......no, i don't think location makes any difference....they play safely and apply all their rules and regulations to all the locations..........simply becoz they all are diplomatic professionals......i mean the caseworkers located in every corner of this world

best regards
mohan

With the details u provided, i believe that your case will succeed on appeal. The challenge is the relatively long time frame for decision. - u may ahve to wait for up to 6 months.
