Urgent

I am currently finalising my research work for a PH.d program, and was wondering if I am eligible to apply for PSW as my current visa is expiring 31 Aug 2009. As stated on the UKBA website, that student writing up thesis or research can apply and what letter do I need to provide from my school.

My friend, you cannot apply for PSW before your PhD is awarded by the university, which means after the final submission of the thesis and after the graduation office confirm the award. however, you can apply after the they confirm the award even if you didn't get the certificate, but certainly not during the writing up period. If you the degree is not going to be awarded (which is after you submit to be examined) any time soon, it is better to extended as student. Make sure you have the maintenance fund during this period to be able to apply for the PSW when the degree is awarded by the post-graduate office in your university. Hope this helps.
