Urgent -Tier1 extn queries

Hi All,
have a query for all the experienced people out here in this forum.

I am soon going to apply for the Extension of Tier 1 (General) visa.

1.My university name has been changed now. Should I select new name and tick the box saying proof has been given in previous application ?
Also ,new university name is too long and the fields provided in the form are not sufficient. Can I write the uni. name out side the boxes ?

2. What should I mention in the home office ref. section .I have home office letter ref. from my last extension approval letter .
Should I mention that or BRP ref ?

Hi,

There are a few things you can do

First of all if you have already proven your English language skills on your previous successful application you really don't need to re-submit that evidence. I'd suggest if you are going to PEO take it with you and provide it only if asked. I didn't have to give it when I renewed my Tier-1(Gen).

Secondly, check if your degree is still valid under the new name of your university. It might be the case the old name is still on the list of approved institutions in which case you should be okay.

And lastly, you can contact your university and ask them to give you a letter stating that the name is now changed and it was know earlier as XXXXX.
