Hi All,
I hope someone can help me out in this situation. I applied for US visitor visa DS160 on non-british passport few months ago and have an appointment in November but now I have received my british passport.
So what should I do now;
Should I attend the interview on non british passport ?
or just apply ESTA and leave my previous application in progress as it is ?
or should I cancel my appointment on non british passport application first and apply ESTA ?
Have you ever applied for a US visa before?
Have you ever been granted or refused a US visa before?
If none of the above applies, it becomes easier.
Apply for ESTA on you British passport, you should get a reply in 24 hours most likely 12 hours (If you've never been refused a US visa before).
If you get the ESTA, don't bother turning up for the USA visa interview. You can only have 1 or the other.
If you do get rejected at the interview, it could eventually affect your ESTA.
How long do you plan on staying in the USA?
If you plan on staying up to 6 months in a single trip, then go get the visa.
If 3 months max is enough on a single trip, then stick with the ESTA on British P.
