Will a DVLA fine for no tax affect my CR1 application

Post by RJD » Fri Sep 01, 2017 11:27 am

Hi All,

Concious this might be a silly question but given my lack of experience in this area i would like some advice. I was recently sent a final notice for an unpaid fine that i have since discovered was for a gap in road tax of 2 weeks at the beginning of the year. I am due to contest this at a british magistrates court via a statutary declaration as i had no formal correspondence of the fine in question until now.

By attending the court to make a stat dec or having this fine against me, will it in any way affect my ongoing CR1 process? We filed for the CR1 (I-130) back in May before this all happened but i want to be sure when i come to my interview that this i not held against me in anyway.

Appreciate any help here.

Many thanks
