VAF-1 and SEGS question

Post by Symplectic » Fri Jan 05, 2007 12:29 am

I would like to apply for a SEGS visa, and I have a few questions about the VAF-1 form and SEGS in general.

On VAF-1, how should I answer the following questions?

------
In section 1, should I tick "Other" and then state "Science and Engineers Graduate Scheme?"

>2.12 Is this your first passport?
Should this include passports of all previous nationalities, i.e. I'm a naturalized citizen and this is my first passport for my new country.

At the end of section 4, it asks "If you have answered yes to any of the questions, please give details overleaf".
I assume that this refers to the questions on that page, which are 4.13-4.16, and not every question on section 4. Am I right (probably I'm just being pedantic here)?

>7.1 What job do you propose to take in the UK?
I'm guessing that this should just be left blank, or I should say "Will look for job".
>7.3 Are you applying to go to the UK as a work permit holder?
No?
-------

Should I expect the visa processing time to be the same as that for other non-settlement visas (e.g. 5 days for straight-forward applications)?

Finally, is it a violation of the rules if I leave the UK before the SEGS visa expires for some reason, e.g. if one is unable to secure decent employment after a long time? I'm not planning to do this, but I wonder anyway.

Thanks for any help.
