Verification of Documents Submitted

Does the Consulate of Canada verify (by telephone call or fax letter) the documents such as employment or education references while processing the application for Permanent Residence? Thanks.

They very well might, as part of the overall checks conducted regarding the applicant. If the documentation provided is less that doubtless, it's almost a given that some checks will be done.
