E-vetting long forename issue

Post by Leo99 » Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:40 pm

While filling out the personal information section, long forename causes issue and the form says This is a mandatory field. If you only have one name please enter it in both forename and surname fields. What to do?

Hello,

I am the similar issue, my full name according to passport is 21 characters and no surname so ideally it should be same as forename. I tried submitting some parts of my name on forename section and surname. I got this email.

Dear applicant, When completing the Vetting process, all areas of the form must be completed in full. Please provide your names in the same sequence as your passport. As a result of the above detail being completed incorrectly on your vetting form, your Vetting application has been deemed Ineligible. Please revisit the original link issued to you and complete a new vetting application in order to progress to the next stage of processing. Please enter your names in the same sequence as your passport.

Do you know how I can proceed further ?

Thanks
Deepesh

Forename is 21 letters or is it 2 names in forename like name name? I gave the second in middle name field and they accepted it.

So in passport has something called a full name, something like name1 name2 name3 and surname is empty

So you should fill:
Name 1 in Forename
Name 2 in middle name
Name 3 in Surname

That's the most logical approach. But even if the surname in your passport is empty, Your name 3 is your actual surname (last name) right?

So the state in India I am from puts surname first and then forename and then fathers name.

So in passport the full name is written like surname forename and fathers name. Surname section is empty.

Its weird situation, not sure how to fill that form or even explain the customer service team.

Oh I see . I'm not sure either. When you completed your citizenship application form, what order of names did you put?

I think it's better to confirm with them again before you submit anything. if you have anyone from your country who might had similar situation you may check with them as well.
