A couple of points. Firstly the VFS office cannot advise you over the phone of the outcome to your application. The reason for that is simple ... they do not know ... the passport is in a sealed envelope.
Secondly, VFS operate in a number of different countries. Which VFS office are we talking about here?
Irrespective of the above, I would say it is good news. That is, given the basic check done at the VFS office when the application was handed in, to ensure that there was no glaring omission from the evidence being supplied, the BHC would not reject an application without an interview. Accordingly the fact that a decision has been made without an interview being needed is a good sign! Need I say more?
