EEA family permit for Spain, where to get?

Hello,

I am UK citizen, currently self employed in Spain. My Indian partner (and father to our 4 month old) is currently in England with me on a tourist visa but will have to leave in February. He will come back to England as my fiance and we will get married as soon as we can. We then want to apply for an EEA family permit so that he can come with me, as my husband, back to Spain where I have work lined up for the summer. Only after the summer will we come back to the UK and apply for his leave to remain.

My questions are these:
- when we are married in the UK where will we apply for the EEA family permit?
- How long does EEA family permit take?
- Are there costs involved?

EEA Family Permit is a UK specific thing and does not exist in other countries. Your husband will have to apply for a normal Schengenvisa at the Spanish Embassy, and for the family member of an EU national this visa will be free of charge.
For your return after the summer he will need to apply for an EEA Family Permit (again free of charge) at the British Embassy in Spain.
