European Citizen married to British citizen HELP!

I would be sincerely gratful if someone could help.

I hold a Swedish passport but I have been living and studying in the UK since 2003 (10years) I have proof of education worth 10 years, however I was not covered by comprehensive sickness insurance whilst Studying, nor was I working. Therefore, I cannot apply for naturalisation on my own. Despite that, I have been married to a British citizen for almost 2 years, could I apply as a spouse? If so, what are the requirements - he too has been studying and worked for only a short while. I read that the British spouse has to have been darling a certain income a year, is this true, or is his income irrelevant?

Please can someone be of assistance. Thank you in advance.

If you were not asked to provide evidence of comprehensive sickness insurance, and later apply for permanent residence as a student, your application will not be refused solely on the grounds that there is no evidence of comprehensive sickness insurance on the date of decision .

No, I never applied for a registration certificate, and was not aware that I needed to have CSI.
