Moving to France

Post by quaylette » Sat Apr 28, 2007 8:29 pm

Hi,
I am French married to an American citizen and we lived in the US. We are planning on moving to France but my husband wants to find a job there first. From what I understand, he'll need a spouse visa, then when we get there he'll apply for a resident card.
We've seen some job offers online but to apply he needs to be legally authorized to work in France. He won't be until we move there... How do we do?
Does anybody know what to best way to proceed? Anyone in that situation?
I am assuming it is not legal to go with a spouse visa when we visit my family in France then apply for residency, go back to US and when a job is secured, move. ?
Thanks for any help! :D

Someone else may be able to give you more specific guidance but now take a look at this webpage. Sorry my French is not up to spotting exactly which part of all that might be relevant. And in the absence of anything specific to your situation, you could always give them a call and ask.
