Professional Work in Germany with Job Search Visa

Professional Work in Germany with Job Search Visa

Hi All,
I completed my Masters in Germany and now I have a job search visa for 18 months with unlimited work permit (I mean during this stay I can work for any job) until my visa expires. Now, I got a Professional job to which I need to join in a week span of time. I heard from my peers that I have to apply for the work permit with the job contract and normally it takes 4-6 weeks of time. So, Until I receive my work permit, can I join the company and work with the job search Visa (since it permits full time work for any kind of job) ?
