Hello,
I currently have a Spanish family reunion resident card with authorization work as a result of my wife who has a blue card. The absence of jobs here in Spain resulted in me setting up a business outside the EU...and returning to visit my family pretty much every 5 weeks. My wife and kids and I (sort of) all reside in Spain.
I came visiting three weeks ago and the new company that had been employed to process our documents, stated that i will have a problem renewing my residency card if the total number of days i spend in Spain in less than 180 days...or 6 months.
This has pretty much left me in a state of confusion and sort of stuck here in Spain because I had been told that my residency is solely based on my wife...as long as I am not out of the country for more than two to three months I am fine; if i am out for so long it can signify we are seperated or divorce. ..this sound pretty logical to me, but the law as we know isnt always.
Now my questions:
Which of the above statement hold?
2. This state of confusion usually result in unsolicited advice and recommendation from well wishers and friends who may be misinformed, or just like the sound of their voices. A well wisher adviced I should register as an autonomo, and commence payment this October. My one or two payments (payment for October and November) and my status as a business man allows me freedom to travel out od the EU as much as I like.
Please advice, is going the 2nd route relevant? In the event I must be in the country for 6months, will registering as an autonomo salvage my situation?
Any well informed adviuce will be appreciated.
Thanks.
