Travelling in Schengen with a ""recepisse de deman

Post by dsanchez » Thu Nov 27, 2008 7:11 pm

Hello everyone

I am peruvian, and currently studying in France (for one year) and have got my "Récépissé de demande de carte de Séjour" just some weeks ago. This papper is valable until 01/01/2009.

In my passport I have a visa only valable for France.

My question is, can I travel to another schengen state with this "Récépissé de demande de carte de Séjour" (which is a papper that states that i am on the way of getting my residence permit) with no problems?

I am travelling to Slovakia to see my wife (who's a EU citizen).

Thanks

David.

There is a discussion here. Obviously, technically speaking, you cannot.

What type of "carte de séjour"?
Aiming at travelling to the UK with my wife and not with an EEA FP!
