Schengen visa to travel to Italy query

Hello everyone

I'm hoping to go to Italy for our anniversary in November. I have had previous scenghen visas twice from Spain bls. Since I'm going to Italy I want to apply to Italian authorities. As its my first time I was wondering if I apply through the Italian embassy or an equivalent of bls organisation that the Italian embassy uses? Also please is it similar documents needed. I usually apply through a family member invitation for Spain as we have family there so I'm not sure how to go on about it. I would be grateful for any advice please.

Italian VAC in the UK is VFS Global, you go through them.
Documents are similar but might be slightly different - check document list on the website. Of course, take into account you would have to show you have hotels booked and so on as you don't have an invitation from someone there this time.

OK I will have a look at the website. I forgot to mention that I visited Italy last year for 4 days but that was based on the schengen visa issued by bls so I don't know if it would matter in any way. I appreciate your help.

Doesn't matter. You apply as usual, according to the list on the website.
