Hello everyone, I’m a student in the UK and I am planning to travel to Europe with my family in 13 December 2024. After my trip to Europe I plan to return to the UK for 1-3 days on 24 December 2024 to pack up and then go back for good to my home country (i.e. Indonesia).
I am applying for the Schengen visa in Edinburgh since I am still in the UK.
I have read that to apply for a Schengen visa (will be applying to Spain as it is the first port of call and also the majority of the trip), I need to have 3 months validity remaining on my Student visa after the date I leave the Schengen area and return to the UK. However, my UK student visa expires on 11 January 2025 (18 days after 24 December 2024).
Thus, I may have a problem with my application in the UK. Nevertheless, it is very difficult and expensive for me to apply for a Schengen visa in my home country (i.e. Indonesia).
I’m thinking of emailing the Embassy of Spain asking for advice on my specific situation.
I have found this other thread with a similar situation as mine but there was no follow up on their result of the Schengen visa application: europe-immigration-forum/schengen-visa- ... 88613.html
Nevertheless, have anyone ever had any experience in this kind of scenario? What decision did you receive?
Thank you!
