French Schengen visa

Hello there,

Iam moroccan citizen resident in the UK and married to british citizen, we would like to drive to north africa through france and spain, but i need a schengen visa for 40 days which i believe i have to get it through the french consulate in london.

Can anybody please advice me what to do about it? and what i need to apply for this visa knowing that i only need it to drive through the 2 countries staying 1 night each.

I would appreciat your help in this matter.
