Mother British, children South African - visa for Spain?

Post by tinkit » Mon Jun 21, 2010 6:22 pm

Hi,

We are desperately trying to get an appointment with the Spanish visa section, but there is a problem with the website. Finally, when the form started working, and I entered my kids passport details, it wouldn't let me book an appointment because they 'already had a previous appointment' (whcih they do not).

I also have the problem that I do not have their original birth certificates - the student loans company has lost htem. I have copies.

What I do have - their South African passports with their British residence permits (indefinite leave to remain).

Can anyone advise on what to do now? We're flying on 13 August (if all goes well) for 2 weeks.

Many thanks

Hi again,

I phoned the spanish embassy again, and they said that I might already have an appointment, but they can only check on thursday as their back-up will take that long to process  If I do have an appointment, this will only be 2nd august, under 2 weeks before flying.

I have also applied for new birth certificates with the SA consulate, although these might take 4 months.

I did get their abridged certificates (short form) copied and notorised at the consulate, so hopefully this will be ok.

Assuming the spanish embassy will accept the birth certificates, and that I have an appointment for 2nd august, will this be enough time to get the visa's?

Thanks
