EEA Permit Question again....

Post by Wanderer » Sat Jun 03, 2006 5:27 pm

Assumptions and facts:

1. I get an Irish passport via Irish GP

2. I am British by birth.

3. Partner is non-EU here living with me for last year on student visa

Can:

A. I exercise my treaty rights by doing nothing really

B. Partner travel within EU visa free

C. Work in EU for 12 months (her 'year abroad', a required part of her interpreting degree) while I remain in UK

We are planning for UPV so I know EEA permit is not the better option but because she is a visa national getting a WP and EC for Germany for her is becoming a little fraught!

I was thinking this route might ease this visa problem.
