My wife is a Swedish citizen. I am an US citizen. My wife has been here in the US going through the immigration process and we are about 4 months away from her getting her interview and then Greencard. However, during this time she has become pregnant. Due to this and some other personal factors, we are going to abandon her US Greencard application process and both go to Sweden very soon.
When we are in Sweden, she will be 6 to 6.5 months pregnant. At this time I will apply for my residence permit while in Sweden.
My question is this:
Because she will be 6.5 months pregnant with my child, and I MUST be there for her and our child's birth, will they force me to go back to the US and apply for the residence permit from there? If they do that, I will miss by child's birth!!! and have no idea when I will be able to come back to Sweden to be with them
If they send me back to the US to apply, I won't have a job or anything here, and it will probably be impossible for me to come back to Sweden in good time. I must be there for my baby's birth and for my wife. I love her so much.
All I want is to be able to be with my wife and be there for my child's birth and to be there with our baby.
Will they take this into consideration? If they do, how many months must she be pregnant in order for them to NOT send me back to the US to apply for a Swedish residence permit? Is there a safe answer? Because I don't think we can go any earlier OR later than 6 or 6.5 months, so it would be that.
