Different persons schengen visa on my Indian passport

Post by rebeirostephen » Tue Feb 14, 2012 9:44 pm

Hi all,
I just picked up my passport from VFS London today evening, I applied for a schengen visa to the Netherlands, and it seems some moron from the Visa office pasted someone else's schengen visa on my passport.

I have to wait till tommorow to talk to visa office and till then I wont get any sleep. Anyone else had a similar situation?

I will post the outcome of this issue once it's solved, but any advice would make me feel comfortable.

Plus I will be visiting India soon and I bet heathrow immigration will question this in detention :(

Advice. Go to sleep and don't worry about what you can't control. Phone up tomorrow. A mistake can be corrected.

Well arranged an appointment with the Dutch embassy in London today,
The chief officer apologised for the error and took the passport.

came back in 3 hours, received the passport , the old Schengen visa is stamped "cancelled without prejudice", and a new Schengen Visa was given (obviously the correct one this time).

Plus : I initially applied for only 3 days visa , and now received a 90 days instead, thanks to them but does'nt really help, since i cancelled my trip and not sure when I will go out next.

Happened to me as well with the French where a male's schengen visa was placed in my passport (an ugly reminder each time I travel plus the odd looks/questions I get from border guards as i'm female). As with you the visa dept. head was profusely apologetic and somewhat embarrassed, and instead of a 6 month - 1 year visa gave me a 3 year one. I was pleased but still concerned about the whereabouts of my original visa, but they assured me that it hadn't been placed in another passport. Doubt it, but i'll never know.
