schengen visa quick query !

Post by msrmsr » Mon Oct 08, 2012 9:48 pm

Hi everyone,

quick query about getting a schengen visa.
The last time I got the visa - the acutal date from - to was specified, again this was in 2007

I have recently been told that now the schengen visa does not have a start and end date - they only give out for a length of period as opposed to the dates.

I intend to go for a 5 day trip.
Please can somebody comment.

Thanks so much in advance.

thanks for the reply

I should have been more clearer.

If I plan to visit from 01 Dec to 05 Dec.
Will the visa have the dates specified on the visa or the duration.
In short could I change those dates or do I need to stick with them !

See e.g. http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=115053 . You will have to stick with the dates unless you have an emergency situation.

You have been told incorrectly. See:

Scroll down to "Anything I should know about the visa, once I have it?"

Enjoy your trip!

Hi Everyone,

so I got my visa.
the visa is valid for a month dates specified - 30 oct to 30 november
for 15 dates with single entry.
I plan to change the dates of the travel as to what I applied for in the visa.
My question was when I last applied the specified the dates 03 Mar to 06 Mar but they do not do it any more.

thanks everyone for their inputs.!!
Next vacation is going to be for a skiing
