Travel to Prague with new British Passport

Post by baltrical » Mon Sep 16, 2019 11:25 am

Hi,
I am an Indian Citizen, and I got a British passport last week through the Tier 1 General route.
My question is, I am planning to travel to Prague with a British passport, but still I haven't surrendered the Indian passport to Indian Embassy. Will it be a problem to travel Prague? Which citizen am I currently?

Simply travel on British passport. Not sure why you feel there is an issue.

You are a British citizen regardless or other citizenship you have or had.

Don't over think it :) Just show your British passport and everything will be fine. Nobody would ask you about the Indian passport.

My wife, who has more than two passports, had the same worry the first time she got a second passport even though her country has no qualms on multiple citizenship. I presume your worry is because India does not support dual citizenship.

Enter and exit Prague with UK passport. No one is going to ask you any question regarding your Indian citizenship because you are entering as a UK citizen. Same with UK; Exit and enter with your UK passport.
