HSMP or WP

Post by nnj10 » Sun Jan 21, 2007 5:32 am

Dear Members,

I have already got my initial HSMP rejected for not meeting the ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIRMENT, although I am awarded 95 points as claimed in the other sections.

I have now three options:

1. My prospective employer in UK (World's laregst Oil & Gas company), was(and still it is) willing to file a WP for me, but I held them back, saying I would be getting the HSMP visa. I can now ask him to go ahead with WP, if I desire so. And I can still enter UK with WP visa, in about a month or slightly more than a month.

2. Wait for about another two months, take IELTS and apply again for the HSMP, and hope for my LUCK!!!. If approved, get EC from India, and then enter UK on HSMP Visa.

3. And a mix of both, get a WP, go to UK (in between take IELTS), once in UK, make in-country fresh Initial HSMP Application.
Now, the Specific question is, In this case, do I need to come back to India for EC? or can I easily switch from WP->HSMP in UK itself? (My spouse would be a dependent on me in both the cases)

Any exp. member, with similar situation please share your exp. and views.

Any suggestions in general on my case?

You can switch from WP to HSMP in-country by filling in the FLR(HSMP) form. It's your call, WP then switch will be quicker but also more expensive.

not knowing you already had job offer here...

get a letter from the Oil company stating you have a job and need final confirmation you are coming to start work in UK soon

Then fax Home office:
Review request form, with reasons already discussed.
Urgent Treatment form, stating you have a job to start
The letter from Oil company as evidence for needing urgent treatment.

And if you feel like being cheeky, get the oil company to state that on that same letter that you demonstrated in interview process that you speak/listen/read/write great english

Shockboy,

Thanks a million, for your valuable suggestion.
Meanwhile, I am trying to contact the NARIC, for the English language requirment for the Bachelor Degree above/below IELTS 6.
