tax form compared to bank statements--US residents pls help

Post by melimango » Fri Feb 16, 2007 10:45 pm

Hi,
I'm using my W2 tax form and my bank statements as salary evidence. I don't know why I haven't done this before, but I went through and totaled up the amount of money depostited into my bank account and it doesn't match any number on my W2. What do the caseworkers compare the bank statement amount to? I am so confused.

Mine doesn't either! But this is not the issue, as the bank statements are only required where the tax statement (in relation to your claimed earnings for the last 12 months) does not cover the whole earnings period claimed.
However, the bank statements should confirm the details of your employer salary satements (monthly, fortnightly, or weekly). To help the case worker in interpreting my tax statements, I also included the end-of-tax-year statements from each employer.
