Bank statement showing overdrawn figures? Will FLR Refused?

Post by touchsensor » Sat Feb 24, 2007 12:07 pm

Hi there,
My friend is applying for FLR for HSMP (switching from WP to HSMP). She has to provide bank statements and for the last 12 months, she has gone on debit (in overdraft limits) in some months(3 months exactly) as she had sudden financial commitments ie had a dodgy boyfriend. This shows in her statement as £XXX D. Any idea will she be penalised for this when she applies for FLR under HSMP? Her last 4 months statement has not gone overdrawn. Infact she earns a good £2000 after tax per month.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Kind regards,
Touchsensor

Hi,

Is she's earning that sort of money, how come its showing xxx D....Normally it shudnt matter but remember the HO will wanna see that she cant maintain herself without course to public funds and if all her 3-4months bank statements are showin xxx D, then HO might start to think she cant sustain herself.

If it helps, she cant just open a new account and have ner salary credited to it.

Thanks for your input. The problem with her account was that her bf (now ex) was using it to gamble online. Initially it didn't matter as he wasn't using her money but then between sep06-nov 06 he started gambling heavily, hence her bank statement showing £XXX D. Since she broke up with him (Dec06-Feb 07) her statement has been positive(without the D). She is applying for FLR next week and is worried about this. That is her whole story.

If she opens a new account: Will the HO question why her bank slips are between 2 separate banks?

Thanks.

Hi,

Doesnt matter which bank statements she uses, as long as the is enough credit level on the statements. Gonna apply for my FLR as well soon and will be using my other bank statements cos the ones i used for the initial HSMP is xxx D :D and submitted them like that and still got approved.

To be honest, it doesnt really matter but still u must show that u've got enough money in ur bank acct and wont turn to public funds for support.
