UK born child, Visa stamping in India

Post by mantasingh » Wed Feb 19, 2014 11:51 am

Hi

I have a UK born child with Indian Passport but no UK Tier 1 visa as I have not applied for one.
I need to travel back to India for few weeks and wish to know the following:

1. Whether my new born can travel to India without UK Tier 1 visa?

2. If yes, then Can I apply for UK Tier 1 dependent for my new born from India?

3. If Yes, then will this have any impact when I apply for my ILR? i.e. will my new born be granted British Citizenship when I become eligible for ILR as the baby is UK born or will the baby be required to be in UK for 5 years before being granted ILR/citizenship.

Please clarify so that I can plan accordingly.

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Previously UK-born Baby will be entitled to apply for British citizenship immediately after a parent is granted ILR.

Thanks Vinny for the responses.

Could someone answer my 3rd question based upon what will be my UK born child's status when I go for ILR, if my child has got Tier 1 Dependent outside UK.
